Welcome to Zeitspace, Eddie Visser

Written by Zeitspace | Apr 5, 2019

We’re as pleased as we could be to announce that Eddie Visser has joined our team as a UX Designer. Eddie brings a wonderfully varied background to Zeitspace. Here’s a chance to meet him through his answers to our now-standard questions, and to admire his commitment to not pluralizing “Lego”.

Why UX design?

My career has always focused around User Experiences, whether it was in advertising, games, or tech. Even my film and animation background had me creating strong story driven engagements, that in many ways, drew parallels with the digital initiatives. As a UX Designer, I enjoy the complex problem solving, the variety of applications that make projects uniquely different from one another. The daily challenges and learning that comes with designing for people and systems that you might not have any experience with.

What kind of development do you like? Mobile? Web? Something else?

I enjoy all kinds of development with no real preference to a specific platform. Mobile does offer an immensely broad range of UX applications, and web has been the foundation of my experience design since day 1, but the ultimate development is when you start designing across platforms, crossing the space between software and hardware development.

Recommend one thing (maybe a book, movie, album, TV show, physical experience…) Why?

Sous Vide cooking at home, especially steak! Its very easy to do and probably the best way to enjoy tender cooked meat.

What’s your favourite new (or old) discovery in Waterloo Region?

I still consider myself a newbie to the Waterloo region. I think there is still much to be discovered, but of late, the LCBO at King and William streets has a pretty nice variety of craft beers!

Share a cool thing that folks might like to know about you?

Apart from collecting tattoos, I’m also a tattoo artist. I have my own private studio and do very selective pieces. My style is in Neo Traditional Japanese tattoos. I’m a bit obsessed really…

Anything else you’d like to add that these questions that I missed?

I love Lego.
